Overview
The course provides an opportunity to develop the skills suitable for a career in Computing with specialist subjects in cyber security, enabling students to learn how to create and manage secure computer systems.
It allows those who wish to apply their knowledge and expertise in a technical environment to develop the cyber security skills required to develop and maintain secure computer systems and the computing skills needed to match software solutions to the needs of business. The course is suitable for graduates wishing to transition into an IT career from other disciplines, as well as for candidates wishing to extend their existing IT experience with a formal Computing qualification.
This course is available to study full-time or part-time. The part-time mode is ideal if you would like to develop your career but are unable to commit to full time study.

How you will learn
You will learn to develop and manage the modern software tools and secure information systems demanded by industry using appropriate development methodology to provide high quality, secure software systems.
The core technical content of the course is directed towards the study of state-of-the-art tools and techniques in the fields of information and security management, software development, secure database systems and web security. Throughout the course, content is complemented by practical work, allowing you to support your theoretical understanding by developing real-world problem solving skills and gaining practical experience.
You will be taught through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, labs and external speakers, supported through our online virtual learning environment affording access to a wide variety of resources and support materials.
